i consider myself a 'lacquerhead'...i've got at least 150 bottles of nail polish and i'm fast approaching 200+ if i haven't already gotten there.
so the subject of today is....nail polish removers!
i know, boring! they're everywhere and come in a billion different colours, brands and prices. here is the whammy i have recently discovered myself. all nail polish removers are NOT created equal. you really do get what you pay for!!! some of the big brands in nail polish (OPI, zoya) have their own brand of nail polish removers and they are just...FANTASTIC. i mean a dab on a cotton ball, a single swipe across my nails and it removes EVERY trace of polish. takes seconds and i'm ready to paint my nails again. now i've only received these expensive nail polish removers as gifts (or gifts with purchase) so i've never suckered into buying them myself. i am still going through a gigantic £0.99 bottle of polish remover from superdrug. but it's a TERRIBLE formula! it takes me FOREVER to get my nail polish off, i go through 5 or 6 cotton balls for one hand alone. it is annoying and it's nearly convincing me that it really IS worth the extra money to get me from manicure to manicure faster.
in closing...sometimes you really do pay and get a better product.
however that isn't always true! my favourite sports supply store in london is called decathalon. their products are incredibly cheap yet somehow of a great quality. it goes against everything we've ever been trained. cheap = crap! but not here! for some reason...this store lives to please me and its customers and lets them buy £5 wide leg yoga trousers that are so comfortable i never want to take them off. i bought a swimsuit for £4.95 and i can't tell the difference between that and my £20 speedo. so. if you ever need anything vaguely sports related (sports equipment or just comfy clothes) go to decathalon!
